[WTS] Auction Leftovers #6

Hello again, and good morning!
This listing is for items that did not sell during the January 17 Auction, so you can buy anything you want right here and right now - no buyer's premiums, no additional fees.
*FREE shipping for any order over $100.
*All items priced at $1 are now .75 each
Each lot was individually imaged (front and back) for the auction - so the easiest way for you to see exactly what you're buying is to visit the auction link (the auction is over, so I'm not advertising anything different or advertising an upcoming auction) - so here that is:

Here is the required "prove you still have the stuff" photo with the username card and today's date:

Payment: PayPal only. I do not have Venmo/Zello/Bitcoin or any other form of digital payment at this time. No notes if using PPFF, please. (Thank you.) If you choose to use PPFF, please make sure to send me your shipping address here as it won't automatically load with your payment.
Shipping: I will charge you what it costs me for the USPS label rounded up to the nearest dollar. For First Class that is usually $4, for USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Small Box it will be $9. I will get you a tracking number right after payment is received and will get your package scanned into the USPS system within 24 hours of receipt of payment. I will offer "Risky Shipping" (via stamped greeting card) at my discretion for $1 - for single, small coins ONLY. NOTE: These prices are for Continental US shipping only - if you live outside the continental US, shipping will be more expensive. I am still happy to do it under the same rules as above, but just keep in mind it's going to cost more.
What do YOU need to do to buy coins from this group: send me a list of which lots you want (for example, I want to buy lots # 51, 52, 53, 54, 55) and I will send you a total. There are too many coins here (plus there are duplicates) so I cannot look up the coins you want by description - just give me lot numbers and it will be much simpler.
I'd like to make a simple and polite request - if I have sent you my PayPal information (meaning we've agreed to a deal) please finish it up as soon as you can so I can check you off the list and move on to the next person. This helps make sure you get all the coins we discussed and no one else is in limbo.
I will do my absolute best to update the ad as soon as lots sell.

Tips on being homeless.

Some tips on being homeless because who know's when someone could use a survival tip or two:
1- Never, ever, ever borrow or accept money from anyone on the streets no matter how hard up you are. You will be owned if you do. 2- Save on Foods, Mc Donalds, Walmart, A & W & Tim Horton's all have the best Wi-fi connection. 3- Condense your life into one back pack. Simplify, simplify, simplify. This will save you mentally and physically in the end. 4- Bear spray. That is all. 5- Invest in a $10 shower vinyl Coleman pack. Stick it in a back pack and fill it up in rest stops. It's $13 dollars to shower in hotels or truck stops and that can add up very fast. 6- Find places to sleep that are dark and you can tuck yourself in 7- If you have to sleep under a bridge, tuck yourself up high and wear all black to hide yourself out from late night people sketching out or wanting to fight or looking for trouble. 8- There will always be good people who come around in spite of your situation. 9- Coleman shower pack, Truck stops, hotels & motels, Rec centers & campgrounds are good places to shower. Rivers are great for bathing. 10- If you have wheels, you are so blessed. 11- It is easier to get into a shelter if you have kids 12-Even though they say no food in your room in the shelter, some rules are meant to be broken. A back pack is great for snacks lol 13-Carry a concealed key knife- yes a key knife - easy to hide and you'll be thankful you have one. Mine was given to me by a street warrior himself. 14-Homeless life becomes so hard that it is so easy to stay stuck. DON"T STAY STUCK. 15. If you have a vehicle the best places to sleep are casino parking lots, walmart parking lots, safe feeling communities, hotel parking lots, service road truck line ups, conservatory places, river sides, crown land, ice shacks 16- A lot of people do not have your best intentions at heart so be careful what you're doing and who you take advice from when you are feeling low. 17. Remind yourself only YOU have the power to get out of the situation, 18- Most cities have community support centers and places to get food and counseling 19- The food bank line is hell. But there is some food at the end of those long awful lines. 20- The dollar store fucking rocks for little gadgets and nic-nacks if you need to set up camp somewhere 21- Try and pack a tent and find a spot you won't have to move often. Moving is so mentally draining and exhausting. 22- Don't stick around too long in one place 23- Don't buy weed off the streets. DON"T, DON"T DO IT. Don;t buy anything from anyone.. don't. 24- Don't tell anyone how vulnerable you are. People prey like motherfuckers. 25- Make up wipes work great for wiping your hands and face to freshen up. 26- Always have your toothbrush and paste with you. When you feel tired you can brush your teeth as a psychological hack to make you feel more awake to keep persevering. 27- If a street person asks you for water, it's usually to shoot up, not drink. Don't judge these poor hurting souls and save your drinking water. 28- empathize, empathize, empathize. If you are reactive to everyone and everything or are judgmental, you are hooped. 29- Always watch your back. Always. 30- Smash the tops of feet and gouge eyes if you ever get attacked and don't be afraid to fight back. 31- If you are so lucky, spend time in nature if you can 32- writing and books are a good escape and easy to pack in your bag 33-Learn to love the body you were born in real fast because doing hair and makeup ain't a thing. 34- There is a lot of free clothing that get's given out at shelters 35- Stick to yourself. Better chance at getting off the streets. 36- If you need to warm your shower pack up faster stick it under your floor heater if you have a car. 37- Get your hands on a sleeping bag and foil emergency blanket somehow 38-Always look for the beauty in the moment. Everything is art. Everything. 39-Mindset is key. Your body will always give up before your mind does. Careful what you feed your thoughts 40- Never sleep in truck stop areas. You will be meat. 41- Not all medical professionals and staff in shelters are leading you down the right path. Be choosy if you can. 42- Learn to think for yourself or else you're fucked. Intuition baby. Intuition. 43- Plug ins are found outside gas stations and fast food joints and in picnic parks to charge your phone. 44- Picking bottles will get you money. 45- Learn to wear clothing you can wake up and go to sleep in. Trust me. 46- The river valley is a good spot to hide and set up camp without hasstle for the most part. Again, don't stay in one place too long. In BC there are a lot of meth labs in forrest areas. some in alberta crown land as well. be careful. 47- Don't listen to your music or you can't hear what is coming behind you 48- Vodka helps, be mindful on how much you're consuming and if you drink too much you will be off your game to stick up for yourself if need be. 49- Shelters are sometimes are rougher than the streets but gain you access to other supports if you can get in. It is NOT EASY getting into a shelter. 50- Keep your head held high and don't give a fuck about the judgement you will receive. People will be judging no matter what you do, so fuck it. Keep going. Keep fighting the good fight. Your situation does not define you and people who judge you and look down on you DO NOT matter :)

Special Bonuses

JackpotCity Casino also has country-specific bonuses, birthday bonuses, and special holiday bonuses. Royal Vegas Casino Review

When a casino operator decides to launch multiple brands, it is unusual for them to launch them all at once; they are typically staggered over a series of years, and sometimes the original site can get a bit stale as the focus shifts to new brands.
The subject of this review, Royal Vegas Casino, is one of the old guards of online casinos. Since its launch, its parent company has gone on to manage 19 other brands; have they put this site out to pasture, or is it still worth your time and money? That is what I plan to find out with this honest, legit review of this casino.

About Royal Vegas Casino

Royal Vegas was one of the flagship sites of the Fortune Lounge Group when it was launched in 2000. It is now one of the 20 brands under the Digimedia Casino umbrella, alongside sister sites such as Casino Epoca, Spin Palace, and Platinum Play. In fact, while I was performing my initial stages of this review, I did notice a significant number of similarities between this casino and Platinum Play. As a result, much of this review may sound the same to many of you; I apologize, but I am going to look behind every corner to find all the differences between the two.
All of the Digimedia casinos have a license from the Malta Gaming Authority. This regulatory board keeps a watchful eye over all of its approved casinos, ensuring that player funds are safe and that the casino is completely above board when it comes to fairness and security.

Software Suppliers

Royal Vegas uses two software partners for the two sides of their online casino. The Live Dealer games are provided by industry-leader Evolution Gaming. We’ll talk more about these games further down this review; they are only available via the Instant Play format. For the remainder of the casino, Royal Vegas is powered by Microgaming, one of the industry’s longest-standing and top providers of games. In fact, Royal Vegas is one of Microgaming’s oldest clients, so this casino has seen all the improvements they have made over the years.
Microgaming’s casino is available in Instant Play format, but if you want all the games and the full casino experience, you are better served downloading the casino client to your desktop.

The Good Stuff

Progressive Jackpots

When you hit the casino lobby, your eyes track immediately to the ticker which shows how much money is available in progressive jackpots on the site. The total is currently around 2.5 Million USD; almost half of that can be found in the Mega Moolah game. One spin of those reels could win you just over a million dollars! You should spend a couple minutes playing every time you log in; you never know which spin might be the one that changes your life!

A Clear Opt-Out Option

Wow. You don’t see this very often at a casino. Right there with an overview of the promotions and the rewards is a tab named Unsolicited Communications, where they outline how to opt-out of emails, and their policy to not just spam their players. Well done, Royal Vegas – this is most impressive.

The Bad Stuff

So Much Is the Same

One thing about operating many casinos is that sometimes it is easy to just copy and paste one site into another. From a games standpoint, that is exactly what has happened with Royal Vegas. If you are already a player with Platinum Play, you probably don’t need to play here; the casino lobby is exactly the same.

Quick Points Expiry

You will read a little later on how important a Comp Program is in my eyes; not only do I like to be able to redeem the points for cash, but I also like to try to move up VIP levels as quickly as possible. I noticed that the points at Royal Vegas have an expiry of 60 days; that is significantly faster than the industry standard of 90 days. This is a little disheartening considering you need to accumulate 5,000 to convert them. In my opinion, one of those rules needs to be adjusted.

Royal Vegas Casino Game Selection

Slots

Even though you can see these games at many of the Digimedia Casinos, it is entirely possible that this is your first time seeing Microgaming in action. If so, you are in for a real treat. The slots catalog is bursting at the seams with titles for you to choose from; at last count, there were well over 300 slot machines in the casino lobby.
What I particularly enjoy are all the games that feature brands I know from other walks of life; you will see many of those along with other in-house content that I have enjoyed playing from the list below:
  • Around The World
  • Avalon
  • Battlestar Galactica
  • BrideZilla
  • Bubble Bonanza
  • Cashanova
  • CashOccino
  • Cash Splash – 3 Reel

Live Dealer Games

I mentioned earlier how much I love the Live Dealer games from Evolution. Truth be told, I enjoy live casino games form virtually any supplier. The pace of these games is much different than the traditional online casino; I also love watching the dealers on the live stream having to deal those oversized cards!
At Royal Vegas, you can find the Live Casino games in the “Tables” tab of the lobby, and from there you can choose from the following games:
  • Caribbean Stud Poker
  • Dream Catcher
  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
  • Casino Hold’em

Video Poker

I am sure I am one of the craziest video poker nuts I know. Sometimes, I will find myself at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, playing at one of the machines at the bar while also playing a game on my phone at one of the online casinos I have reviewed. Yes, that may be considered extreme behavior, but I can’t help it – I love these games!
When it comes to the selection at Royal Vegas, you will find a significant number of machines and pay tables. It is important to look at the pay tables before playing a game; you want to make sure the variant you are playing gives you the best return for your betting style. Also, you may find the multi-hand versions of the games exciting; there is nothing better than a Royal Flush except maybe 4 of them on the same hand!
Check out the types of video poker games you can play at this casino:
  • All Aces
  • Jacks or Better
  • All American
  • Aces & Faces
  • Double Bonus
  • Bonus Deuces Wild
  • Tens or Better
  • Aces & Eights
  • Deuces & Joker
  • Double Double Bonus
  • Joker Poker (kings or better)
  • Bonus Poker Deluxe
  • Double Joker
  • Deuces Wild
  • Louisiana Double

Table Games

For this casino review, I decided to do something different when testing the Table Games. I chose to play a game I don’t play very often and give it a full 45 minutes session. This time I decided on 3 Card Poker; this is a game I tend to play only with my friends after way too many drinks in Vegas, so I thought I would try it in the comfort of my own home. The end result? Well, I am still not sure if I like the game as much as I do other Table Games; thankfully there is a full complement of those at Royal Vegas:
  • 3 Card Poker
  • Atlantic City Blackjack
  • Atlantic City Gold Blackjack
  • Bonus Blackjack
  • Classic Blackjack
  • Craps
  • Crown and Anchor
  • Cyberstud Poker
  • Double Exposure
  • European Blackjack Redeal
  • European Gold Blackjack
  • Hi-Lo 13 European Blackjack
  • Keno
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Premier High Streak Blackjack
  • Poker Pursuit
  • Red Dog
  • Roulette
  • Sic Bo
  • Spanish Blackjack
  • Vegas Downtown Blackjack
  • Vegas single deck Blackjack
  • Vegas Strip Blackjack

Specialty Games

Now, the honest truth here: I did not test any of these “Casual Games” in reviewing Royal Vegas. While many of you may love to play these games, I consider them nothing more than a time-filler, and a costly one at that. However, should you get the itch to try one of them out, here are all the options you have to choose from:
  • Monkey Keno
  • Six Shooter Looter Gold
  • Pharaoh’s Gems
  • Spingo
  • Keno
  • Hexaline
  • Four By Four
  • Triangulation
  • Germinator
  • Max Damage and the Alien Attack
  • Whack a Jackpot
  • Super Bonus Bingo
  • Pharaoh Bingo
  • Three Wheeler
  • Electro Bingo
  • Samba Bingo
  • Mayan Bingo
  • Bubble Bonanza
  • Pick ‘n Switch
  • Beer Fest

Royal Vegas Casino Promotions

While the casino lobby can look the same, where I am hoping to find some differences between this casino and its sister properties is in the promotional area. I am going to have a look at two promotions in detail here in this review:

Welcome Bonus

This offer for first-time depositing players is eerily similar to the one being offered by Platinum Play, but this one is just a little bit sweeter. They are offering you up to $1,200 in bonuses and 120 Free Spins in their Welcome Bonus, along the following lines:
  • On your first deposit: a 100% deposit match up to $/€250 plus unlock 30 Free Spins on Dragon Dance-a minimum deposit of $/€10 is required to receive your Spins
  • On your second deposit: a 25% deposit match up to $/€200 plus unlock 40 Free Spins on Wild Orient
  • On your third deposit: 50% deposit match up to $/€750 plus unlock 50 Free Spins on the SunTide
So, this is definitely different than the other casino; first off, it is more money. Also, it is only spread over three deposits (all of which must be made within 7 days).
I was able to access the Terms and Conditions page and found there that the wagering requirement for this bonus (and all other bonuses) is 40x the bonus amount; that is a competitive rate, so it’s definitely worth giving this bonus a shot.

Wild Wins Wheel

This is a great ongoing promotion that by the sounds of things has been run before at this casino. It is a time-sensitive offer (this one looks to be about three weeks long), and has straightforward rules:
  • Play your favorite games to earn Rewards points
  • Your Rewards points will fill up the progress bar
  • Each time you reach 100%, you’ll get a spin on the jungle wheel
  • Prizes on the wheel include Free Spins, Rewards points and a Bonus Round for even bigger prizes!
  • You can try and spin the jungle wheel as many times as possible to win your share of €300,000 in instant prizes
I like that the casino has offers like this available for players; the sense of urgency to play games before the promo ends provides motivation to play more often, which is obviously good for the casino.

Banking

Getting your money to this site is not going to be a problem. As you will see below, the number of payment methods offered is staggering. Also, if you have a problem with the first method you choose, as I did, the casino works fast to ensure you are still on the hook. I received a Live Chat message as soon as my deposit was rejected, followed by being walked through another method which ended up being successful. That is an excellent way to keep players interested.

Royal Vegas Casino VIP Program

Along with the Comp Program, all real money players are entered into Royal Vegas’s VIP Program. This program has two parts to it; an in-house tiered program that rewards players from the second they make a deposit, and access for higher-level players to the Fortune Lounge VIP program, where you can find yourself being invited to some of the most exclusive parties and events in the online casino world.

Would I Play at Royal Vegas Casino?

Well, here’s the thing: I have a real money account at Platinum Play and have used the Welcome Bonus, so I am not even sure I will be able to take advantage of the superior offer from Royal Vegas. If you haven’t opened an account at either, I would suggest you do so at Royal Vegas first, then see what happens after you clear the bonus.
The site itself is great: an excellent selection of games, a great comp and VIP program, and a whole host of ways to contact the casino in real-time if you have any issues. I have no problem recommending this casino to anyone- time has not passed Royal Vegas by, and they remain one of the flagship brands of the Digimedia Casino group!

Just my guitar hero idea here

So I had this idea for a guitar hero game (though we might not ever see one again, but a man can dream). I call it, Guitar Hero: Reawakened. The quest mode for this picks up, let us say, a year or 2 after the events of Warriors of Rock. The Demi-god witnesses terrible events as EVERY warrior (some that did not get warrior forms in WoR will receive one as well as 2 characters debuting in this game), except for 3 (Axel Steel, Johnny Napalm, and Judy Nails), are under the spell of an unknown entity (revealed to be Lou later on) The demi-god, realizing the 3 that are unaffected will not be able to handle the threat without a fourth member, seeks out Izzy Sparks (also unaffected) to recruit him and join the three in free the others from the spell and saving the world through rock and roll. Izzy's warrior form could be a humanoid tiger. Guitar battles would happen in every venue starting with the second one before the encore. The battles would have the format from guitar hero 3. The only voice acting would be the narrations from the Demi-god.
For songlists, these are songs I feel would fit in the game and are just ideas.
For the venues, the names you see from venue 2 onwards are not the characters you play, but who you will have to face in a guitar battle in that venue. The character in bracket is who would face that rocker if you do one-player mode.
Venue 1: Izzy Sparks and his transformation into a warrior (he is with his band in this before joining the other 3 main characters of this game) His basic doubles the active star power duration, while his effect+ makes it quadruple the duration. Location is Tiger Alley.
Songlist:
2: New character with warrior form of an ogre. [Johnny]
Songlist:
3: another new character (This one's warrior power can be this: basic would double the multiplier [that is without star power at all, so max multiplier would be x8 without star power without other powers combining with it] while the effect+ makes it triple the current multiplier. Warrior form is that of a humanoid polar bear) Location is Polar Dome where outside is snowing and cold. [Izzy]
Songlist:
4: Eddie Knox (His basic power in quickplay could be that a missed note reduces rock meter by half of how much it would usually go down. Warrior power would make it only a quarter of it. His warrior form is the appearance of a zombie gambler) Location would be the Knox Casino. [Johnny]
Songlist:
5: Echo Tesla (Metallic Factory) [Izzy]
Songlist:
Halfway Point: Soundgarden telephantasm experience (if they are willing to sell the license to use 5 or 6 of their songs from the telephantasm album in order to retrieve the artifact of the same name). For the story for these songs, I would imagine this being narrated by guitarist Kim A. Thayil.
Songlist (All by Soundgarden)
6: Lars Umlaut (Razorback Castle) [Axel]
7: Pandora (Roman Colosseum) [Judy]
Songlist:
8: Austin Tejas (Paramourn Theater) [Axel]
Songlist:
9: Casey Lynch (Las Vegas: Allegiant Stadium) [Judy]
Songlist:
10: Lou at the Rock Underworld (this would be a full battle of the bands instead of a regular guitar battle, but normal guitar battle rules still apply). Lou's band consists of himself on guitar, the grim reaper on vocals, the minotaur on drums, and an unknown fourth member on bass.
Songlist:
Final Boss battle with ALL 12 rockers freed (will split into three groups of 4, can be arranged for which group, but the final group is locked with Axel, Izzy, Johnny, and Judy, though you will have ALL 12 warrior powers for the final song (I feel 7empest by Tool would fit well).
Songlist:
For this, when it is a guitar battle, encore, the telephantasm experience, or the FINAL boss, they will be in warrior forms. Otherwise, in regular songs (except for venue 10), they will be in human form.
Bonus: God of Rock. (The Demi God has his own band as he heads for his homeland (Mt. Rocklympus) for a rock concert. After ALL songs in the quest mode have reached max stars, the god of rock [demi's father] appears and says he enjoyed the concert and challenges the demi-god to a guitar battle, the latter immediately accepting. After Demi-god defeats his father, the latter joins him in his band for the final encore of the game.)
Songlist:
For some post-launch DLC, I would definitely have both parts of Dream Theater's Metropolis, both part 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper the song and part 2: Scenes from a Memory the album. There would be a dream-like venue for this one. The characters playing this will likely be the four main characters from quest mode in warrior or even spirit form.
Due to Axel, Johnny, and Judy not having their own venues in quest mode, Stage of Kings, CBGB, and Infernal Hall, their respective venues from WoR, will return as Quickplay+ venues.
My band lineup in this one would be Johnny Napalm on vocals, Axel Steel on drums, Judy Nails on guitar, and Izzy Sparks on bass. I feel arranging the lineup at will should be an option as well.
Also every other guitar hero fictional character that has appeared in any of the guitar hero games will be in this, including those that did not appear in quest mode in this game. However, they will be unlockable through quickplay+. That includes Clive Winston, Xavier Stone, Midori, the four that debuted in world tour, etc. Also including some guest characters like Illidan Stormrage from Warcraft [includes his venue either The Dark Portal on the Outland side or Black Temple or Argus and maybe Reinhardt from Overwatch. Character designs will be based off the designs from Warriors of Rock.
For the visual effects for when star power is active, I have Axel's instrument surrounded by a mini-sandstorm or earth shaking around him (I don't know), Johnny's emitting green smoke (like when he transformed into a warrior in WoR), Izzy's emits sparks of electricity, and (my personal favorite visual effect) Judy's lights up on fire.
To compensate for the lack of punk rock on here, I have the idea for a punk rock pack as dlc which includes, but not limited to: Ten in 2010 by Bad Religion, Come out and Play by The Offspring, Dave's Possessed Hair Medley by Sum 41, etc.

FBE BTE II - BITB Match - Booking Kota Ibushi in AEW - Part 4 - The Golden Star Rises

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Build to Bash at the Beach
Following his victory over Lance Archer at Revolution, Kota Ibushi takes a night off, and notably on the show, Santana and Ortiz pick up a victory over Hybrid2 after interference from Sammy Guevara.
On the following week's episode of Dynamite, Kota Ibushi is once again taking it easy, when he is approached by Hybrid2, who are asking for someone to team with them in a 6 man tag team match against Santana, Ortiz and Sammy Guevara. Ibushi admits that he really doesn't have anything else to do that week, and agrees to participate in the match. During the match, Kota Ibushi is the overall difference maker, and his involvement results in a victory for Hybrid2 and Ibushi, after Ibushi hit the Golden Crucifix to Sammy Guevara for the 1, 2, 3.
On the following week of Dynamite, Sammy Guevara is seen speaking backstage with Chris Jericho, who is berating Guevara for making the Inner Circle by being pinned by Kota Ibushi the week before. Guevara asks his mentor what he can do to make up for his mistake, and Jericho tells Guevara to find Hager, and beat up Ibushi. Guevara agrees and leaves the shot. Later in the show, Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager are shown in the parking lot attacking Kota Ibushi. Hager and Guevara pick up some steel pipes and try to use them to beat up Ibushi, but from out of nowhere Ibushi mounts a comeback, snatching Hager's steel pipe and using it to beat down Hager and Guevara. However, as Hager and Guevara begin to recover, Ibushi runs to his car, hops in and drives away before Hager, Guevara and now the rest of the Inner Circle can get to him.
On the go-home show for Week 1 of Bash at the Beach 2022, Kota Ibushi is seen backstage beating up Jake Hager with a steel chair, before running away as AEW officials come to check on Hager. Soon after this, Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara are in the ring, calling out Kota Ibushi. Ibushi comes down, steel chair in hand. Santana and Ortiz try to jump Ibushi, but Hybrid2 arrive to fend off Santana and Ortiz, before Ibushi makes his way to the ring. Jericho and Guevara remain in the ring, and Jericho steps forward, letting Ibushi know that his orders to Guevara last week weren't personal, it was just done to send a message. Ibushi doesn't appreciate being used to send messages to the locker room, but admits that their attempt backfired, because they look even more stupid than they already did because they didn't get the job done. Jericho goes to lash out but Guevara pulls him back, before Guevara says that if Ibushi is looking for revenge, he'll face Ibushi at Bash at the Beach. Ibushi then reiterates that he doesn't just want to face Guevara, but he wants to send a message to the Inner Circle not to mess with him, and he wants to do that by beating "Le Champion" Chris Jericho. Jericho accepts and it is arranged that Ibushi will face Guevara on week 1 of Bash at the Beach, and the following week he will face Chris Jericho. Ibushi turns to leave the ring, but Guevara jumps him, and beats him down. Jake Hager comes down the entranceway to help Guevara beat up Ibushi. Hager and Guevara then grab Ibushi and set him up for the Judas Effect. Jericho hits it, knocking Ibushi out cold.
Week 1 of Bash at the Beach 2022
Kota Ibushi vs Sammy Guevara
Sammy Guevara puts in a good showing in this match against Ibushi. Despite Ibushi's dominance against other competitors, Guevara is positioned on an even playing field to Ibushi. The pair begin the match with some mat wrestling, before transitioning into their signature moves, trading them with each other, until Ibushi manages to get ahead with a Golden Star Powerbomb fora 2 count. Kota Ibushi looks at the referee, shocked that he didn't get a three count, when Chris Jericho's music hits. Kota Ibushi stands up to face the entranceway, but before anything happens, Sammy Guevara sneaks up behind Ibushi and secures a school-boy roll up pin for the 1, 2, 3.
Sammy Guevara def. Kota Ibushi via pinfall (10:57)
Week 2 of Bash at the Beach 2022
Kota Ibushi vs Chris Jericho
This match is quite a more psychological match, pitting Kota Ibushi's youth and speed against Chris Jericho's ring awareness and experience. Jericho focuses more on wearing down Ibushi limb for limb, whilst Kota Ibushi focuses on outpacing Jericho to try and keep him on the back foot. Despite Jericho's strong relationship with the Inner Circle, none of the Inner Circle make an appearance at ringside, which the commentators claim is at the request of Jericho. During the chain wrestling, Jericho is usually able to gain the upper hand at firs,t but Ibushi would then utilise his speed to escape the holds. The match ends when Jericho has Ibushi staggering towards him, and he goes for the Judas Effect, but Ibushi ducks underneath Jericho, before grabbing Jericho in a crucifix hold and hitting him with the Golden Crucifix, pinning Jericho for the 1, 2, 3.
Kota Ibushi def. Chris Jericho via pinfall (15:29)

Build to Double or Nothing
On the Dynamite following Bash at the Beach, Kota Ibushi would be booked in a one on one match against Matt Cardona. Ibushi would put in a stronger offensive performance than Cardona, however the finish would come when Sammy Guevara runs down to the ring, armed with a steel chair, and begins beating up Kota Ibushi, causing a disqualification. After Guevara is done beating up Ibushi, he shouts at Justin Roberts to hand him a microphone, and Roberts obliges. Guervara then says that Ibushi may think he's shown the rest of the Inner Circle that he's a force to be reckoned with, but Guervara knows differently, as although Jericho lost, Guervara reminds everyone that he beat Ibushi.
On the following week of Dynamite, Kota Ibushi is taking the week off to recover from the chair shots. Meanwhile, Matt Cardona confronts Guevara backstage, asking why Guevara felt the need to cost Matt his match. Guevara says it wasn't personal, but Cardona isn't having any of it, telling Guevara to get in the ring and settle this like men, or run away to his sugar daddy Chris Jericho. Guevara doesn't take kindly to that comment, and accepts the match. During the match, Guevara utilises cheap shots and referee bumps to garner heat and derail Cardona's momentum, however, when Guevara is nearing his finish, Kota Ibushi's music hits. Ibushi comes down the entranceway, using a pair of crutches. Guevara turns to look at Ibushi, and is shocked by his appearance. Ibushi and Guevara have a stare down, allowing for Cardona to recover and begin lining up his finisher. As soon as Guevara turns back to Cardona, Cardona runs at Guevara and hits him with the Radio Silence jumping leg lariat, covering Guevara, 1, 2, 3.
On the following week of Dynamite, Sammy Guevara cuts a promo calling out Kota Ibushi. Ibushi emerges and hobbles down to the ring, still using crutches to help him. Guevara claims that Ibushi's decision to interfere in Sammy's match last week was unacceptable and uncalled for. Ibushi retorts by reminding Guevara who it was that put him in crutches, or rather, who he's been able to convince put him in these crutches. Guevara's expression becomes confused, but that changes when Kota Ibushi throws aside the crutches, and hits Guervara with a clothesline. Ibushi beats down Guevara a bit, before picking up Sammy Guevara and hitting him with the Golden Crucifix.
On the next week of Dynamite, Kota Ibushi is cutting a promo, calling out Sammy Guevara to face him in a match that week. However, out comes Chris Jericho. Jericho enters the ring and reiterates that he's not here to fight or to set up an attack on Ibushi, as he was impressed by Ibushi at Bash at the Beach, saying "your beef is with Guevara, not the rest of the Inner Circle". Jericho says he's down here to tell the viewers and Ibushi that Guevara wasn't able to make it to Dynamite, "something about a sick dog, hey, don't boo a sick dog, you sickos". Ibushi says that if Guevara has any balls, he'll show up to Dynamite the next week, and face Ibushi once more. Ibushi immediately drops his microphone, and walks past Jericho, brushing Jericho's shoulder with his own on the way out.
This week's Dynamite has the blowoff match for the Kota Ibushi vs Sammy Guevara feud. Each of the men are given ample opportunity to get in some of their signature offence, in what is portrayed as a fairly even match, but the finish comes when Guevara is climbing the top rope, ready to jump, when Ibushi recovers and knocks Guevara onto the top turnbuckle. Ibushi then grabs Guevara off the top turnbuckle into the crucifix position, and hits the Golden Crucifix on Guevara for the 1, 2, 3.
On the following week of Dynamite, Ibushi takes a rest, but it is announced that at Double or Nothing, the yearly traditional Casino Battle Royal will occur, with the winner going to All Out to challenge for the World title.
On the go-home show for Double or Nothing, Kota Ibushi interrupts a promo battle between MJF and Orange Cassidy to reveal that he will be entering the Casino Battle Royal, and he claims that it will be him going to All Out, and at All Out, he will become the new AEW World Champion. MJF gets in Ibushi's face, saying that Ibushi doesn't stand a chance against "the best thing this company has ever seen". Ibushi goes to attack MJF, but Wardlow steps between the pair to stop their fighting.
Double or Nothing 2022
Casino Battle Royal match
The Casino Battle Royal is happening, and halfway through the match, out comes Kota Ibushi. Ibushi runs in and immediately eliminated Peter Avalon, going on a bit of a tear, before that momentum is silenced by a discuss lariat from Brodie Lee. As the match progresses, Kota Ibushi remains strong, eliminating the likes of CIMA and Matt Cardona. There comes a moment where Ibushi looks set to be eliminated, with Luther using his strength to try and push Ibushi over the top rope, but through some heroics, Ibushi uses his legs to pull Luther over the top rope and eliminate him from the match. The match continues as normal and the last entrant in the match is MJF. Instead of getting in the ring to try and make some eliminations, MJF decides to sit on commentary and watch for a while. When the match is down to Ibushi, Moxley, Luchasaurus and MJF, MJF makes the bold decision to get in the ring, and he immediately tosses Jon Moxley out of the ring. Ibushi, Luchasaurus and MJF go at it for another 10 minutes, with plenty of false finishes. The ending comes when Luchasaurus begins having a shouting match with Wardlow. Wardlow jumps up to the apron and tries to eliminate Luchasaurus, and nearly does it, but MJF comes over and finishes the job, eliminating Luchasaurus from the match. As MJF holds his hands out to boast about his achievement, Kota Ibushi sneaks up behind MJF and tosses him out of the ring, to win the Casino Battle Royal.
Kota Ibushi wins the Casino Battle Royal match

Build to Fyter Fest
Following Double or Nothing, Kota Ibushi cuts a promo thanking all of his supporters for putting him in a position where he may now become the AEW World Champion at All Out. Ibushi says that he's gracious for the opportunity, and whether it be the current champ Adam Page, or someone else, he's ready for the challenge. Adam Page comes down to the ring, and he says that he doesn't plan on dropping the AEW World title anytime soon, and at All Out, he plans on retaining the belt, though he does congratulate Ibushi on the incredible achievement. Ibushi thanks Page, but says it won't matter when he pins Page's shoulders to the mat at All Out. Suddenly, MJF's music hits. MJF comes down and cuts a promo calling Kota Ibushi's victory at Double or Nothing a "complete fluke", claiming that it should be him going to the main event of All Out, not Ibushi, as he's the real star of AEW. Page interrupts to say that if MJF wants to be in the main event of All Out, his only ticket is winning the AEW World title, and that's not going to happen if Page has anything to say about it.
On the following week of Dynamite, AEW World Champion Adam Page and Casino Battle Royal winner Kota Ibushi are booked in a tag team match against MJF and Wardlow. Due to tensions between Page and Ibushi that they may have to face each other at All Out, they are unable to get on the same page, unlike MJF and Wardlow, who act as a cohesive unit to win the match in decisive fashion, with MJF pinning Adam Page.
Because he pinned the World champion in a tag team match the week before, MJF is given an AEW World title shot against Adam Page on the following week of Dynamite. Before the match begins, Adam Page is seen backstage speaking with Kota Ibushi. Page is asking Ibushi if he would like to be in Page's corner for his upcoming match, as Page would like someone to make sure that Wardlow doesn't interfere. Ibushi says he'd be more than happy to help. During the match, Ibushi sees Wardlow trying to interfere, and stops Wardlow from doing so, but gets beaten up for his efforts. However, with Wardlow not causing any distractions, Page is able to hit MJF with the Buckshot Lariat, covering MJF for the 1, 2, 3, and retaining the title.
On the go-home show for Fyter Fest, MJF cuts a promo on AEW World Champion Adam Page, saying that Page only won because Kota Ibushi helped him win. Adam Page comes down and says that he wouldn't have felt a need to bring in Kota Ibushi if Wardlow would give him a fair match. MJF challenges Page's credibility, saying that he shouldn't need anything extra to help him win his matches. As MJF and Page continue their arguing, Kota Ibushi slides into the ring and starts attacking Wardlow. This distracts MJF, who drops his guard momentarily, allowing Page to hit the Buckshot Lariat on MJF, as Ibushi clotheslines Wardlow over the top rope. Before the show ends, it is announced than on Week 1 of Fyter Fest, Kota Ibushi will face Wardlow in a singles match, whilst MJF will once again challenge Adam Page for the AEW World title on Week 2 of Fyter Fest, but everyone on the roster is banned from ringside.
Week 1 of Fyter Fest 2022
Kota Ibushi vs Wardlow
This match is truly an underdog match, with Ibushi acting as the smaller, but faster and smarter babyface, whilst Wardlow takes on the role of the dominating heel. Ibushi is unable to match Wardlow's strength throughout the match, but whenever Wardlow begins to gain momentum, Ibushi uses his smarts to derail that momentum, utilising a combination of high-flying offence with high impact offence to wear down the armour of Wardlow. The finish comes when Wardlow begins mounting a last-minute power sequence, holding Ibushi up in a military press, when Ibushi struggles and is able to get out of Wardlow's grip. Ibushi then irisuh whips Wardlow to the corner, and uses the turnbuckle to lift Wardlow onto Ibushi's back into a crucifix hold, and miraculously Ibushi manages to hit the Golden Crucifix on Wardlow, pinning Wardlow for the 1, 2, 3.
Kota Ibushi def. Wardlow via pinfall (8:34)
On week 2 of Fyter Fest, MJF beats Adam Page to win the AEW World Championship

Build to Fight for the Fallen
On the Dynamite after Fyter Fest, a fatal four way is held to determine who the number 1 contender will be for MJF's newly won AEW World Championship at Fight for the Fallen. The four competitors in the match are Darby Allin, Adam Page, Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega. Jon Moxley goes over, pinning Kenny Omega. After the match, MJF comes down and has a face off with Jon Moxley, but they are interrupted by Kota Ibushi, who stares at both of them, before pointing to the AEW World title and mouthing "that will be mine".
On the go-home show for Fight for the Fallen, Adam Page cuts a promo calling out Kota Ibushi. Adam Page says that he's quite unhappy that he lost the AEW World title, but something he's also bummed about is that he's now lost his opportunity to face Kota Ibushi at All Out. Ibushi says that it's a real shame, but he'd still like to face Page at Fight for the Fallen. Adam Page says that he'd like that, on one condition... if he can beat Kota Ibushi at Fight for the Fallen, Page is inserted into the main event of All Out, making the match a triple threat match. Kota Ibushi agrees, and the match is set.
Fight for the Fallen 2022
Kota Ibushi vs Adam Page, if Adam Page wins, he is inserted into the main event of All Out
Kota Ibushi vs Adam Page is a very even match. Kota Ibushi is fighting solely to maintain the run of momentum he's been building, whilst Adam Page is looking for any last opportunity to earn a rematch for the World title. Kota Ibushi and Adam Page put in a 20 minute classic, with each man getting ample opportunity to showcase their signature offence. A false finish occurs when Ibushi is able to hit Adam Page with the Golden Star Powerbomb, covering Page, 1, 2, kickout. Another false finish comes when Adam Page connects with the Turn the Page, covering Ibushi, 1, 2, kickout. The finish to the match involves Kota Ibushi and Page locking up, with Page taking control of Ibushi's back. Ibushi manages to free himself by hitting Page with an elbow strike to the chin, stunning Page momentarily. Ibushi capitalises and lifts Page up into a Crucifix hold, before connecting with the Golden Crucifix, pinning Page for the 1, 2, 3.
Kota Ibushi def. Adam Page via pinfall (21:43)
Also at Fight for the Fallen, MJF retained his AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley.

Build to All Out
Following Fight for the Fallen, MJF holds a championship victory celebration parade in the ring, boasting that he is well on the way to being the most dominant AEW World Champion in history. MJF congratulates Darby Allin on the great effort, but then takes that compliment back by saying Allin isn't on MJF's level. MJF then says he must look forwards, and in his path is the number 1 contender for the AEW World Championship at All Out, Kota Ibushi. MJF says that Ibushi is actually a worthy challenger, with loads of high level accomplishments... "in Japan!". MJF laughs before claiming that Ibushi will never be able to replicate the success he had in Japan over in the United States. MJF says that he can't wait to prove that fact at All Out, when he pins Kota Ibushi in the middle of the ring, to continue his reign as AEW World Champion.
On the next week of Dynamite, Kota Ibushi and MJF have their contract signing for their match at All Out. However, before Ibushi signs the contract, MJF grabs Ibushi's contract and hands it to Wardlow. Ibushi looks confused, before MJF states that in AEW, there exists what is known as the champion's advantage, meaning the title cannot change hands in the event of a disqualification or countout. MJF states that at All Out, there is nothing stopping him from simply walking out of their match at All Out, and retaining his title. But, MJF says he's willing to drop the champion's advantage in their match, before pulling out a separate contract. Before Ibushi can grab the contract, MJF states that if Ibushi wants MJF to remove the champion's advantage, he must pass three tests. Firstly, he must win a gauntlet match against 3 superstars of MJF's choosing. Kota Ibushi then must beat Wardlow in a beat the clock challenge. Then finally, Kota Ibushi must kiss MJF's feet. Ibushi agrees to the conditions.
On the next week's episode of Dynamite, Kota Ibushi participates in the gauntlet match. The first opponent is Luther, who he disposes of quickly. The next opponent is Ricky Starks, who makes Ibushi work quite hard to get the victory, but Ibushi perseveres and pins Starks following the Golden Crucifix, but by this point he's exhausted. The final entrant is Kip Sabian, who not only utilises Ibushi's weak state, but even goes so far as to cheat to win the match. However, Kota Ibushi perseveres, and hits Sabian with the Golden Crucifix, pinning Sabian for the 1, 2, 3. Immediately as the match finishes, Wardlow comes in and chokeslams Kota Ibushi. MJF grabs a microphone and congratulates Ibushi on completing the first challenge, but he's got two to go.
On the following week is Kota Ibushi's beat the clock challenge against Wardlow. Wardlow starts off the match, competing against a local competitor, and beating that local competitor in 30 seconds. MJF reveals Kota Ibushi's opponent to be Brandon Cutler. Cutler enters the match quite arrogantly, confident he will last 30 seconds, but that arrogance costs him as he is almost immediately caught with an inside cradle, and pinned for the 1, 2, 3. Ibushi rolls out of the ring before Wardlow can get to him. MJF gets in the ring and says to Ibushi, who is now all the way up the entranceway "well done, but you've got one more challenge, and you're going to kiss my feet".
On the go-home show for AEW, MJF hosts a ceremony for Kota Ibushi to kiss MJF's feet. MJF brings in a giant throne, and sets it down in the centre of the ring. Kota Ibushi comes from the back, and looks set to kiss MJF's feet, when MJF feels that him sitting on the throne doesn't feel right, and instead he needs to stand as Ibushi goes through with kissing MJF's feet. MJF stands proudly over Ibushi, who is on the ground, when Ibushi suddenly punches MJF right in the nuts, before leaping to his feet and clotheslining Wardlow over the top rope. MJF staggers around, allowing Ibushi to grab MJF and hit him with the Golden Crucifix. Ibushi grabs the match contract and signs it, before promising to become the new AEW World Champion at All Out.
All Out 2022
MJF (c) w/ Wardlow vs Kota Ibushi with no champion's advantage for the AEW World Championship
This match is Kota Ibushi's crowning moment in AEW. This is the match where Kota Ibushi shows everyone why he deserves to be put in the main event slots, and in this match he demonstrates just how good he can work as a babyface. Throughout the match, MJF uses every single cheat in the book that doesn't involve him getting DQ'd, utilising referee bumps, as well as distractions from Wardlow. But through sheer perseverance and determination, Kota Ibushi fights through all of MJF's challenges, and comes back with his own offence, putting MJF on the back foot. At about the 10 minute mark, MJF rolls out of the ring following a string of offence by Ibushi, and is questioning whether he even wants to get back in the ring, but before he can make up his mind, Kota Ibushi has grabbed MJF and tossed him back in the ring. At about the 18 minute mark, Wardlow tosses MJF a steel chair, before distracting the referee to allow MJF to use the weapon. However, Ibushi ducks under the chair shot attempt, and hits MJF with a flying spin kick, knocking the chair out of MJF's hands and out of the ring, following it up with a lariat to MJF. The finish of the match comes when MJF, in an act of desperation, tries to hit the Double Cross rolling cutter finisher, but because he rushed into it, Ibushi is able to reverse out of it, grabbing MJF in a crucifix hold, before connecting with the Golden Crucifix, pinning MJF for the 1, 2, 3.
Kota Ibushi def. MJF (c) to win the AEW World Championship (25:40)
Aftermath
Following Kota Ibushi's win over MJF at All Out, he would enjoy a long and lengthy title reign, and his first challenger would be... Kenny Omega.

  • With the defeat of the Alliance at Survivor Series (more on that in a bit), the WWF basically reset the whole promotion and also brought back Ric Flair and Jerry Lawler, all of which led to the first positive ratings boost Raw has had in quite awhile. The Invasion angle, after being arguably the biggest flop of an angle in wrestling history, came to an end where WWF won in a confusing mess of a main event. With the exception of the one successful Invasion PPV, all the potential money in doing a WWF vs. WCW feud was completely squandered due to an incredible string of dumb booking and bad business decisions. But that's allegedly in the past now and Raw this week felt like one of those old WCW/Vince Russo company reboots, with the old storylines being dropped and everything starting fresh. Dave hopes this goes better than the 3 times Russo tried to reset WCW.
  • So anyway, let's start with Ric Flair. He had verbally agreed to a deal with WWF on the night of Survivor Series to accept a buyout from WWF on the remainder of his Time Warner contract. The deal wasn't officially signed until about 3 hours before the Raw where he debuted, at which point Flair officially signed with WWF and Time Warner released him from his remaining WCW deal. It was a photo finish because WWF didn't know if Flair would get the release in time and they didn't really have a backup plan if he didn't. With WCW no longer in business and no more WCW office staff, the Time Warner people are left handling all the old WCW contracts and because of that, things were moving more slowly than normal. As seen on Raw, the plan is for Flair to play an adversary to Vince McMahon, with each of them owning 50% of WWF, which will ultimately lead to the long-talked about brand split, with Vince in charge of one side and Flair the other since they can't get along as co-owners. Flair has had on-and-off again talks with WWF ever since WCW folded back in March but the hold up was always Flair not wanting to walk away from his WCW contract, which guaranteed him big money until Feb. of 2003. In recent weeks, the XWF had also spoken with Flair about buying out his contract so there was some pressure there and ultimately, WWF apparently made a good enough offer for Flair to accept it. He will turn 54 years old in a few months and signed a 3-year contract. He's expected to work some matches, but only on big shows and his first match won't be for a few more months because he wants to get back in the shape he wants to be in, since he hasn't really wrestled in a long time. Flair's return, in Charlotte NC no less, got the huge pop you would expect and Flair later told Dave it was one of the top 3 or 4 biggest highlights of his career.

  • Then there's Jerry Lawler, who had actually agreed to a deal with XWF and even worked their television taping last week. When the decision was made to blow off the Invasion angle, it meant Paul Heyman would be taken off television. They would need a new announcer for Raw and the natural choice was Lawler. He has been close to coming back several times over the last few months, but there was always opposition within the company from some people due to the way Lawler kinda nuked his bridges behind him when he left. If you don't recall, Lawler was extremely vocal with his displeasure over how WWF fired his now ex-wife Stacy Carter and the heat got so bad that WWF pulled their developmental deal away from Power Pro Wrestling in Memphis because of their Lawler connections. After Stacy Carter left Lawler (for former WWF developmental wrestler Mike Howell), he began mending fences with the company. They actually asked Lawler to come in a couple of weeks ago, but by that point, he had already agreed to do the first round of XWF tapings as well as appear on WWA's tour of England. Lawler actually signed a contract with XWF which has a non-compete, but his longtime friend Jimmy Hart asked Lawler to work the tapings and then if he still wanted to go to WWF, they wouldn't try to stand in his way. Lawler said the decision wasn't easy because he had committed to XWF and enjoyed working for them, but he also recognized that at this stage in his life, he needed to accept the job that was most stable for his future and XWF is anything but a sure bet. Much like Flair, there was some last-second contract wrangling and he didn't actually sign his new 3-year WWF contract until just before Raw went on the air. He's making roughly the same $250,000 per year he was making before he quit the company last time. Lawler went out on the air having not seen Survivor Series or really without having watched much WWF television at all this year and had zero knowledge of any of the current storylines so that was mostly left to Jim Ross to get over for most of the show while Lawler cracked jokes. Lawler's new deal still allows him to take independent bookings and coincidentally enough, Lawler will still be working with Jimmy Hart to promote local shows in Memphis, which will act as something of a developmental territory for XWF.

  • Raw also saw the departure of Mick Foley. As noted in the past, Foley hasn't been happy with the direction of the company for awhile and a couple of weeks ago on Raw, he cut a promo alluding to all his issues with how the company has been dropping the ball, which was more shoot than scripted. Even though Foley seemingly left the company in kayfabe 2 weeks ago, Vince legitimately wanted to give Foley a real proper send-off, since he's literally never had the chance to do that with any of his top stars (most top guys who leave the WWF usually do so on bad terms behind the scenes). So they had a pre-taped segment on Vince's private jet, with Foley and Vince talking about everything Foley has given to the business and then when the plane landed and Foley walked off, in a sitcom-like goodbye, Vince smiled and said, "Have a nice day." Dave feels like it was a pretty clumsy goodbye and paled in comparison to how, say, NJPW for instance treats its retiring legends. But better than nothing, he supposes. It was long expected that after Foley retired from in-ring competition that he would stay with the company in an ambassador role, but turns out that is still pretty restricting. Foley wanted more control over his ability to do non-wrestling projects and the WWF contract meant they largely owned and controlled whatever he wanted to do. So Foley is off to go do....whatever he wants now. Dave says he can write more books, but without the WWF machine to help promote them, it's going to be a tougher hill to climb.
  • During the WWF quarterly investor call, Linda McMahon surprisingly made very few excuses for WWF's current business struggles and basically admitted that they just haven't been producing good television. Dave runs down all of WWF's business declines over the recent quarter, the company projections for the first quarter of 2002, profit and revenue numbers, comparing quarters from this year to last year, merchandising and licensing, and all that fun business/stock shit. If numbers are your thing, this story is for you. One interesting thing to note is that, due to the decline in PPV buys and the increase in TV rights fees, that means that television is now the top priority and the company's leading source of revenue (it remains that way to this day). Because of that, WWF has to be careful not to alienate sponsors anymore, which is why things aren't nearly as risque now as they were in, say, 1999. Because TV is now the top priority and they can't afford to take too many risks. During the call, Linda first talked about the business being cyclical and made some other excuses for low attendance (9/11), the failing WWF Times Square restaurant (9/11) and things like that. The usual excuses. But then she admitted that the WCW Invasion angle had been a failure and blamed that for much of the company's recent issues. Which, well...yeah. However, when talking about why the angle failed, she first blamed it on a skill level difference in the performers (basically saying that the WCW wrestlers weren't as good as WWF stars) and poor audience response to the WCW stars (specifically the night of the infamous Buff Bagwell/Booker T match on Raw). She also blamed "creative confusion" behind the scenes (in other words, the fact that plans were changing on a daily basis, which is something that falls squarely on her husband). Linda used a football analogy explaining why they dropped the angle, basically saying it failed and they had to back up and punt. With the exception of RVD and Stacy Keibler, all the other members of the WCW/ECW group have been temporarily written off television. Many of them are understandably nervous about their futures. Some will be fine but Dave thinks some are right to be worried. Aside from Booker T, almost none of them would be that terribly missed if they were released. But with the plan still being to do a brand split and running 2 touring groups simultaneously, they are going to need a lot of wrestlers. Most of them are still working house shows, despite being "fired" on TV after the Survivor Series loss.
  • Oh yeah...Survivor Series is in the books. It was pretty much a one-match show with the WWF vs. The Alliance main event being the only reason anyone cared and the storyline is that everyone's jobs were on the line. For the undercard Alliance wrestlers, many of them really did feel that way. With all the big stars in one match, the rest of the show wasn't great. But the main event delivered and then some. Edge beat Test to unify the Intercontinental and U.S. titles, thus ending the history of the U.S. title, which was dropped. Dave talks briefly about the history of that title (it comes back about 2 years later). The Dudleyz beat the Hardyz to unify the WWF and WCW tag titles, which is also the end of those belts and their history dating back to 1975. Matt Hardy was legit injured in the match when his face slammed into the cage and nearly knocked out his front teeth and he ended up needing a brace put in to keep his teeth in place at the dentist the next day. There's also a chance he suffered nerve damage from a deep cut to the gums. Trish Stratus won the WWF women's title that has been vacant ever since Chyna left the company months ago. Chyna was never acknowledged on commentary and it was never really explained why the title was vacant. Former ECW women's wrestler Jazz debuted in the match and Heyman put her over huge on commentary. And the main event was a 4.5 star show-stealer that was wild, out of control, and just crazy enough to be riveting. Now, 10 months after ECW really died and 8 months after WCW really died, their names were "officially taken off life support and allowed to die with no dignity after a branding manslaughter," as Dave so eloquently puts it. And with that, WCW and ECW are finally, truly dead.
  • Speaking of truly dead, the XWF television tapings are complete and it's uncertain what their future is. They filmed 10 episodes of TV and the situation with Hogan is still confusing. After initially pulling out of the XWF, Hogan showed up as a surprise and wrestled Curt Hennig at the tapings, which was Hogan's first match in over a year (since he left WCW). The match was said to be about what you'd expect from those 2 at this stage in their career wrestling in front of a few hundred fans in a free theme park studio. Hennig was managed by Bobby Heenan, who even took a bump for the first time in years. Hogan did a promo after saying he's planning to win the XWF title but it's unknown if any of this will ever air even if they do get a TV deal. Hogan reportedly did the match as a favor to longtime friend Jimmy Hart, who is hoping to use the Hogan footage to dangle in front of TV execs to secure a TV deal. Hogan is said to be torn because he wants to be back in the spotlight and wrestling again, but he also doesn't want to be associated with another failure and XWF is by no means a sure thing. XWF is planning to film more TV shows in January and are claiming they want to run a full 145-date house show schedule in 2002. Attempting to do that without viable TV is suicide though. They're also hoping to get guys like Sting, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash when they're available, but that's not a sure bet either. They're also filming segments with celebrities like Gene Simmons, Alice Cooper, and Willie Nelson who will appear on the show. So that's basically where we're at with XWF (amazingly, I can't find footage of this Hogan/Hennig match anywhere. Looks like it may have never aired).
  • Martha Hart threatened a lawsuit this week against Diana Hart over Diana's new book "Under The Mat." Martha's lawyers demanded a public retraction, apology, and for the book to be removed from print and taken off bookstore shelves no later than Nov. 28th or else a lawsuit would be filed. Her lawyers also demanded that Diana Hart and her co-author Kirstie McLennan and the companies that published and distributed the book negotiate an out-of-court settlement. Martha is alleging the book is "filled with distortions, misstatements, and unjustified slurs that attempt to destroy the reputation of my family and me, and undermine the memory of Owen. I have no choice but to deliver a formal libel notice." Dave notes that Diana Hart has pretty much alienated herself from the entire rest of the Hart family, including members of the family who have usually been on her side. Diana responded to the lawsuit threat calling Martha a rich bully who is trying to silence her. "Martha has the money to fight me on it and I don't," she responded in an interview. "Maybe she thinks that's how she'll win this but I know what I've written is true." Dave says the book negatively portrays Martha throughout the whole thing and also painted a negative portrayal of Owen's marriage to her. As mentioned last week, Diana recently appeared on a late night talk show to promote the book in Canada and seemed totally out of it, which drew comparisons to the infamous Farrah Fawcett/David Letterman interview a couple of years ago. This week, Chyna was on that same talk show and the host mentioned Diana's recent appearance and joked that he didn't think Diana could have even read her own book, much less written it. Anyway, Dave wouldn't be surprised to see Diana get hit with more lawsuits because the book is just outrageous and full of obviously libelous material and he's shocked any publisher dared put it out to begin with.
  • Dave wants to take a moment to thank all the people involved with helping to promote his new "Tributes" book. He spent the last week in Toronto doing promotion on all the news stations, radio appearances, several TV shows, Off The Record, some afternoon talk shows, book signings, Q&As, and more. He thanks all those people, the publishers, the readers, etc. The book is available at most major bookstores throughout North America now as well as Amazon. In its first week, the book outsold both Diana Hart's book and Kurt Angle's book in Canada. To be fair, Dave admits that Angle's book has been out for a couple of months already, but it was still on the bestseller list until just a week or two ago. But still, Dave's pretty proud of how this all turned out and is eternally grateful to everyone who helped and yada yada.
  • The voting is open for the 22nd annual year-end Observer Awards. Needless to say, 2001 was an interesting year. The wrestling bubble burst, ECW and WCW went extinct, and WWF went from being the most successful company in the world to...well, still the most successful company in the world, but they had the greatest angle of all time handed to them and fumbled it and as a result, business collapsed. Anyway, Dave breaks down all the categories and what they mean and all that fun shit. Cast your votes now!
  • Carlos Colon's younger brother Noel Colon was shot and killed in San Juan, Pureto Rico last week in his office. Noel worked as the president of a transportation company and had just fired an employee. That employee left and then returned with a gun and shot Colon 4 times in the head and chest. Colon was rushed to the hospital but died there (no word if Carlos helped cover this one up too).
  • Hayabusa is still hospitalized. He was expected to be moved to a rehab facility but got sick with pneumonia in the hospital, which apparently isn't uncommon for people who basically can't move for long periods of time.
  • Lots of drama coming out of the King of the Indies tournament a few weeks ago that was held by APW in California. For starters, APW lost more than $10,000 on the show so that's bad news. And then there was a lot of arguments over who should win. APW owner Roland Alexander at first wanted Low-Ki to win the tournament but then Christopher Daniels pushed for Donovan Morgan to win because he's the local guy who has to help carry APW. So Morgan was going to win. But then, the owner changed his mind again and decided American Dragon should win (which he ultimately did). This, along with some bickering over who would run APW's training school, led to Morgan and Michael Modest apparently quitting and planning to open up their own wrestling school and promotion.
  • Chyna was scheduled to play the starring role in a stage production called My Darling Judith, but the play was cancelled just before its opening. No reason given, but Dave suspects poor ticket sales.
  • Hey, the XWF has its own section now! Anyway, a bunch more notes from the recent tapings: Nasty Boys became the first tag team champions. Rena Mero is the commissioner and with Roddy Piper running the show and they teased friction between them, which is supposed to lead to a Piper heel turn eventually. Piper also hosted a Piper's Pit segment, which they called "In Your Face with Rowdy Roddy Piper" because they can't legally call it Piper's Pit. Low-Ki worked the tapings, using the name Quick Kick. Juventud Guerrera won the cruiserweight title. They also set up a mixed tag storyline with Jerry Lawler and a new valet named Kitten against Simon Diamond and Dawn Marie, but with Lawler now back in WWF, who knows what will become of that. Former WCW women Leia Meow, Gorgeous George, and Nitro Girl Chiquita are doing a Charlie's Angels gimmick. Buff Bagwell was supposed to come in as one of the top babyfaces, but the crowd brutally booed him and chanted "Bagwell sucks" and "You got fired!" so on the taping for the next episode, they had no choice but to turn him heel. And then they did a promo thing referencing his being fired from WWF and the rumors of his mom calling in sick for him and all that shit. Dave says that's fine for the internet crowd, but this is a company that is allegedly trying to land a national TV deal and compete with WWF, and Dave doesn't like that they're referencing obscure stuff like that which most wrestling fans know nothing about (much less a crowd of tourists that were mostly just looking for somewhere to sit down for a little while and got begged into being part of a wrestling audience). Booking for the minority of internet hardcore fans is Russo-type shit and Dave hopes they don't make a habit of it (XWF isn't around long enough to form any habits). Vampiro appears to be getting pushed hard as one of the top stars. And a couple of matches sucked so bad that they re-taped them the next day.
  • As for the XWF in general, the reports have been mixed. Everyone involved had nothing but great things to say about how well-run and organized things were and everyone was treated well. The matches were said to be pretty bad considering most of the roster are either green bodybuilders or washed up 80s stars. Jerry Lawler was said to be fantastic on commentary while Tony Schiavone was, well, Tony Schiavone (people these days tend to forget how much 2001 Tony didn't give a single iota of a fuck about wrestling anymore). Of all the wrestlers, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels reportedly impressed people the most, which doesn't surprise Dave at all. Roddy Piper was more coherent than he ever was in WCW, while Rena Mero got shockingly little reaction, to the point that even people backstage were surprised at how not over she was.
  • Notes from Raw: as mentioned, Heyman was "fired" from commentary and replaced by Lawler. It was a way to totally write Heyman off as an on-screen character, and he will continue to work backstage as a writer. Dave says they should bring him back eventually as a heel manager because good lord, can that guy cut a promo (they do indeed bring him back about 6 months after this, as Brock Lesnar's manager). Trish vs. Lita was arguably the worst 2:44 of wrestling in a major promotion that Dave has seen all year. Then a Dudleyz vs. RVD handicap tables match went sideways when the table didn't break as originally planned and they had to improvise some spots to finish the match. Then they had a segment with Vince firing Shane and Stephanie. First Shane came out, said he lost to a better man, and walked out. The original plan was for Shane to be humiliated and dragged out kicking and screaming, much like Heyman and Stephanie were, but Shane didn't want to do that and Vince ultimately agreed. Also, among the wrestlers privately (because no one dares say it publicly), there was some heat on Shane because he took everyone's finishers the night before and was carried out of the arena, but showed up on Raw not selling anything. Then they did do the kicking and screaming and crying gimmick with Stephanie being dragged out. Shane will be strictly behind the scenes for now, but Dave expects Stephanie back on-screen sooner than later since Triple H is returning soon. Then, Vince McMahon made William Regal literally kiss his ass (the debut of the Kiss My Ass Club) with Vince actually showing some of his bare ass and Regal kissing it. Dave found this whole thing pretty awful and he apparently wasn't alone, as viewers tuned out of this segment in massive numbers according to the ratings. And then the Flair debut to end it.
  • Notes from Smackdown: they hyped up the December PPV with Michael Cole reading lines that were clearly edited into the show during post production where he teased that they would have a unification match and crown the first ever undisputed champion in the 100-year history of professional wrestling. For starters, that's obviously not true. But even if it was, Dave is just amazed that WWF actually acknowledged that pro wrestling existed prior to 1984. Sharmell Sullivan debuted on the main roster after shockingly little time in developmental as a backstage interviewer. Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle was a really good match and for once, Undertaker actually went out of his way to sell for Angle and treated him like someone who is on his level.
  • Dave also reviews Smackdown from the previous week since I guess he didn't get a chance before because he was out of town doing book publicity tour shit. Anyway, he says the much-talked about Paul Heyman promo was indeed one of the best promos he's seen in a long time. In regards to the entire Invasion storyline, Dave also says, "Got a feeling this angle will historically be looked at as the single greatest botched angle in wrestling history." (18 years later and....yup. I don't think there's even a close 2nd place) Dave thinks it's sad to imagine how great this angle could have been if they had Heyman delivering these kinds of promos the whole time and really building the Alliance up as equals to WWF, but alas. Dave also seems to think the "What?" chants are getting annoying and notes that people were even doing it at the XWF tapings.
  • Remember how company president and COO Stuart Snyder was fired a few weeks ago? Dave has more details. Snyder was actually brought in to help WWF expand into other forms of entertainment, such as WWF-produced movies and the failed WWF casino idea in Vegas. Snyder actually didn't have much knowledge of the wrestling business, but Vince wants the WWF to be an overall entertainment conglomerate, not just wrestling. But with business plummeting right now, they decided it might not be the right time for that kind of expansion and Snyder was let go. Also, Snyder was said to be pushing hard for WWF to settle their conflict with DirecTV, but Vince refuses to budge on that issue and refuses to settle and that was a touchy issue with them. Vince has never been good about backing down from a fight publicly, even when it's the smart or right thing to do.
  • Torrie Wilson appeared on the Howard Stern show this week. She mentioned that she recently got engaged to Billy Kidman. Dave says that's gotta be rough on Kidman, because the WWF sees Torrie as a potential megastar while they clearly don't have any plans for him. That sort of thing can put a lot of pressure on a relationship. Anyway, that's all Dave seems to know. He didn't actually see or hear it. But DDP was also on the show with Torrie. Here's the full interview and it's basically what you'd expect when Howard Stern has a hot chick in front of him:
WATCH: Torrie Wilson & DDP on Howard Stern (2001)
  • In OVW, Rico Constantino lost a Loser Leaves Town match to Prototype, which means Constantino is finally going to be moving up to the main roster. He got a standing ovation from the crowd afterwards and thanked them for their support. Dave thinks it's going to be interesting to see how his run in WWF goes. Constantino is already 40 years old and that's a tough age to be starting out in the WWF, but he's also really good and well-rounded at all aspects of the business, so who knows.
  • Mike Awesome suffered a torn ACL and it couldn't have come at a worse time. Awesome says he's trying to avoid needing surgery and is getting a second opinion but with all the rumors of Alliance guys being let go soon due to all the company layoffs, it's a pretty bad time to be sidelined with an injury. Wrestlers in the past have continued working with torn ACLs so it's not unheard of, but it's definitely not the best idea.
  • The first major review of the upcoming Scorpion King movie starring the Rock is in and it's very negative. Ain't It Cool News reviewed the film calling it a "sad, cliched, poorly acted, horribly written and sadly directed piece of garbage." So.....not great. The movie comes out next year.
  • Lita was on the cover of TV Guide in Canada and was interviewed. She said her worst injury in wrestling was a dislocated collarbone and shoulder blade from being power bombed by Eddie Guerrero outside the ring.
  • On his website, Kurt Angle made a post saying that his wife's recent comments about RVD (that he was too dangerous and keeps hurting her husband) were just her opinions as a fan and not his. However, for what it's worth, Kurt Angle was on ESPN a few weeks ago and mentioned a wrestler who had broken his nose in a match recently and then said he would refuse to dignify the guy by even saying his name on the show. But he was clearly talking about RVD. Definitely seems to be some heat between him and Angle.
  • You may have noticed that William Regal has been suffering bloody noses pretty much every time he wrestles lately. His nose is smashed and infected and bleeds with pretty much any physical exertion and he now needs surgery on it to fix it. But he can't get the surgery until they treat the infection.
  • DDP was on a radio show doing an interview and admitted that he ended up missing out on about $500,000 by taking a buyout and signing with WWF rather than sitting home and collecting the rest of his WCW contract. Given how his WWF run has gone, probably not the wisest decision in retrospect.
WEDNESDAY: Yuji Nagata to face Mirko Cro Cop, more on WWF essentially resetting the company, Chyna on Howard Stern, and more...
